St. Francis College played a prominent role on the education scene in Quebec for almost half a century. The non-denominational institution was the first to be affiliated with the University of McGill. During its lifetime, served as a Classical College and a Grammar School and established a Normal school for teacher training a commercial department, bilingual agricultural college and an academy.
