Craig's Road Cavalcade
June 4, 2011 Saturday
The cavalcade left Richmond at 8:00 a.m. for Quebec City by way of the Craig Road, and followed the original trace as nearly as possible. The group stopped at the United Church in Danville to meet more participants at 8:30.
There were several stops between the start and Leeds Village (St. Jacques de Leeds), where Steve Cameron met the group for a Craig Road talk complete with wonderful maps of the historic road. Mr. Cameron had arranged a lunch to be served before proceeding to St. Nicolas and Quebec City.
In the afternoon, the group visited the Morrin Centre (Literary and Historical Society of Quebec). The group was given the distinction of being the first one to visit the Morrin Centre’s new Quebec Jail Museum and then were guided to visit all parts of the historic building concluding in the wonderful old library of the Lit. and His.
